Hire Year: I have been practicing Social Work since 2011. I joined the Safe Harbor team in 2016.
Trained in: I have experience working with children and adults in a variety of settings, including; In-home and community-based skills, county case management, pre-school day treatment, In-home therapy, school-based therapy, outpatient therapy, crisis residential services, mobile crisis outreach and substance use services.
Education:• AA degree from Central Lakes College in Brainerd, MN- 2011• BA in Social Work from The College of Saint Scholastica in Brainerd, MN- 2011• MSW in Clinical Social Work from The College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, MN- 2015• Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor from Mesabi Range College in Virginia, MN-2020
Works with clients ages: I have worked with clients across all walks of life but currently work with individuals who are 18+, and are experiencing a sub-acute mental health crisis.
At Safe Harbor we get the humbling experiencing of meeting individuals when they are at one of the lowest points in their life. It is rewarding to be able to assist individuals facilitate change in such a short time period (typically 10 days). I am privileged to be Treatment Director/Supervisor of such dedicated staff members who whole heartedly put in the time and effort to help individuals succeed.
What I appreciate about Northern Pines is the flexibility. They are understanding when it comes to personal matters and family responsibilities. One of the benefits of working at Northern Pines is the generous PTO which allows employees to have a healthy work-life balance.
Likes or hobbies: I live with my husband and two children in Brainerd, MN. I’ve lived in the Brainerd Lakes Area my entire life, growing up near Fort Ripley. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, participating in community events/activities, crafting, camping, four-wheeling, and ice fishing.
